Academic Profile

School:
The Preschool at Pikes Peak Christian is designed to accommodate a variety of student ability levels.  Our goal is to promote confidence and creativity in each student as their social, spiritual, and academic skills grow in our preschool experience.  Specifically, in our prekindergarten, we prepare students for a rigorous kindergarten program at PPCS.

Preschool classes are available for students from two to five years old and classes are held two, three, and five days a week. Our program is fully licensed through the State of Colorado and all teachers are Early Childhood Education certified.

Observation & Evaluation Assessments:
Our highly trained teaching staff observes our students regularly and records students’ milestones and track the students' cognitive, physical, emotional and language development. Formal evaluations are done three times a year and results are communicated to the parent. The first is at the beginning of the year to provide a baseline for each child, then following is one in January and again in May.  These evaluations provide information for the parent in making the best decisions about their child’s education and next steps.

Special Classes Offered:
At Pikes Peak Christian our Preschool program includes five different additional specials for the student beyond our regular curriculum and recess time.  Every week they enjoy Spanish and Music provided by teachers specializing in those areas.  Every other week physical education, library, and computer science are also provided.
